So I went for the 3 mile run on the first running day of my schedule. I recently purchased a belt that holds two water bottles and fits snugly on the small of my back. I need to get used to running with this extra weight an equipment so I fill up the bottles and am off. The weather is windy and chilly, but overall very manageable. I feel like the smaller runs will be harder than my one day a week long runs. It is just really hard to psyche yourself up for distances that are a lot shorter than what you are pushing towards. The reality is this...if I don't do it I may not make the starting line. I end up running 3.1 miles in a time of 29 minutes and 5 seconds. Not great, but considering how I was feeling about the whole thing, I will take it. Feels good to have that first one down.
