Saturday, Jan 3rd. First long run

Well I did not sleep well last night and had a really hard day at work yesterday. I am looking forward to my first long run, even though it is 4 miles shorter than my longerst distance. I am slowly getting used to running with the water on my belt. I tried to take a couple of sips of water at the 7 mile mark and it did not sit well in my stomach. I am going to have to slowly work liquid into my runs to get my body adjusted I think.

Making myself run someone else's distance is still wearing on me. I am guessing that if I had my druthers, I would have tried to run 13 or 14 miles today. The run itself went decently well. I have to keep telling myself that I need to run 8 miles no matter what and that got to be a little monotonous but overall I thought that I did pretty well time-wise. My time was: 1 hr 18 min 16 sec. and I ended up running 8.1 miles. That is a 9 min 39 sec per mile pace.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a cross-training day, but I am thinking of just doing some solid walking and then resting on Monday.
